A place that feels like home— because it is.
Mt. Sterling Place is a privately owned assisted living home designed for older adults who need daily assistance—but not an institutional environment.
Our approach is simple —
Care for people the way we would want our own loved ones cared for.
Why we exist.
Mt. Sterling Place was founded by someone who felt called to return to a life of service. After years in corporate work and early experience as a U.S. Air Force medic, our owner and founder chose to step away from a career that no longer felt meaningful and return to caring for others — particularly the elderly.
Rural Ohio, familiar routines, and personal connection shaped the vision: a small assisted living home where residents feel known, safe, and at ease.
We opened our doors on January 1, 2008, and have remained locally owned and operated ever since.
Home-like philosophy of care.
We believe that aging does not require institutional living.
Mt. Sterling Place was designed to feel like a home — not a facility — because familiarity, dignity, and comfort matter deeply as people age. From shared meals to familiar faces, our goal is to create an environment where residents can relax and feel at home.
There is often something cooking, conversation in the living room, or time spent quietly together. Life here is unhurried and personal.
Right-sized care & honest support.
Mt. Sterling Place was intentionally built to stay small.
That means fewer residents, consistent caregivers, and the ability to provide personal attention without the noise, crowds, or complexity of larger facilities.
We don’t try to be everything. We focus on doing the essentials well—every day.
We are careful not to overstate what we offer, and communicate clearly with our residents and their families.
This honesty is something families value — and something we consider foundational to trust.
A place families can feel
good about.
Many families tell us they feel a sense of relief when they walk through our doors.
That feeling matters.
Choosing assisted living is not easy. Our role is to offer a place that feels steady, kind, and respectful — for residents and for the people who love them.
